Accessing Email on Mobile Devices

*Note - You must change your password from the original that was issued to you in order to sync email to your device. https://idm.bshp.edu/pwm

You can use the Gmail App on your mobile device to setup your school email. You will use your email address and password when adding the username or account name.

If you do not want to use the Gmail App, then you need to use the below settings when setting it up manually through another email app.

Pick one of the two methods below, POP is preferred.

POP SetUp

Standard configuration instructions:

Incoming Mail (POP3) Server - requires SSL: pop.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 995
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS3 or SSL: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Port for TLS/STARTTLS: 587
Port for SSL: 465
Account Name: your full email address (including @bshp.edu )
Email Address: your email address (username@bshp.edu )
Password: your password

 

IMAP SetUp

Incoming Mail (IMAP) Server - requires SSL: imap.gmail.com
Use SSL: Yes
Port: 993
Outgoing Mail (SMTP) Server - requires TLS: smtp.gmail.com (use authentication)
Use Authentication: Yes
Use STARTTLS: Yes (some clients call this SSL)
Port: 465 or 587
Account Name: your full email address (including @bshp.edu)
Email Address: your full Gmail email address (username@bshp.edu 
Password: your password
